Coffee at the Bou'.

A Picture Share!

Thanksgiving was way relaxing this year! The whole family went to my sister's house. Everybody was happy! Friends from Chicago (whom we spent four Thanksgivings together in Cali.) came to visit and that made it even that much more special. I did get to have some coffee with my old friend E at the Caribou near my Mom's town. I learned of a great book coming out soon on the ages of civilization from the point of view of the beverages we've consumed (I can't remember the name of it). When coffee Beanie came out of the Aribica's, it ended the dark ages. You see, people were waking up after a rough night of raping and pillaging and instead of drinking more mead or beer, they started drinking java. This stimulated their brains and started man on his long journey of thought that still exists till this very day (e.g. "Hmm..maybe I'll do something creative today...").

In short short Para-phrase the history of beverages goes something like this:

Beer/mead-Ancient Egypt
Wine
Coffee/tea
Coke/Pepsi- Modern Day

Thank you coffee!

This years Jack-o-lantern was inspired by the one on the scarecrow in Sleepy Hallow. Every year I try to cut one up that speaks to me. This one was clear because my wife just bought the movie on sale somewhere.

I try to get a "after" halloween shot - all rancid and decayed, but this year (my wife) tossed it in the trash! Oh well!

Mean Bean, Powell

Finally in Downtown Old Historic Powell, where 315 turns into a winding country road, there is a great place to get a really good cup of coffee. Small and atmospheric is this converted drive-thru bank / farmhouse of the "Mean Bean". When on the road I can stop and access the Internet and drink a great cup of coffee while doing work in this comfortable and cozy setting. If you go through the intersection of Liberty and Powell Rd., don't blink or you'll miss this drive thru caffeine shtop!
